DIY Branding Guide
DIY Branding Guide
Just starting out and don’t have branding sorted yet?
If you're not in a position to hire someone to design and strategise your brand, there are tools that you can use to create your own brand identity, but the options can be overwhelming, and you might spend hours playing around and still not end up with something suitable. After seeing my startup clients struggle to create something that is web-friendly, professional-looking and aligned with their audience, I created this guide to help overcome these hurdles.
My 28-page digital DIY Branding Guide:
Gives examples of different branding elements and helps you understand the language of branding
Guides you on how to create a logo, choose colours and fonts that match your brand personality
Includes a hands-on template for you to fill in, with notes on how to use it
Covers file formats, sizes and common pitfalls to avoid
Provides pro tips on all aspects of your visual brand identity
Saves time by highlighting the best/easiest online tools to use, most of which are completely free but incredibly powerful
Ensures that whatever branding elements you produce yourself will work well on websites and integrate easily with Squarespace
The Guide is split into two parts:
Instructions, examples, tools and tips - including links to the best online tools and resources
A template that you can use to create your own visual branding elements and ID guidelines, for yourself and/or to share with a web or print designer
The Guide comes in easy-to-use Powerpoint and Keynote file formats, so you will need one of these software packages on your Mac or PC to be able to use the template component. If you don’t have Powerpoint or Keynote, you can still use the PDF version for Part 1 (the instructional element). The digital download product includes all 3 formats in a .zip file.
