eCommerce Squarespace Site Makeover

A gorgeous new website for a talented couture upholsterer

My lovely and incredibly talented client Sarah Louise Dix recently got in touch for a website makeover. She was using Squarespace 5, but wanted to take advantage of all the whizzy features of Squarespace 6, and needed a new look to coincide with the launch of her new ready-made couture furniture. She also needed to be able to sell her stunning Corset Chairs online, and wanted the new website to reflect her more upmarket clientele. Her old Squarespace site design was actually based on a previous site design, so the look and structure were in need of a lift. Her business had also evolved since the Squarespace 5 site was built, and she needed her new site to reflect the new focus.

Sarah fell in love with the parallax scrolling offered by the Marquee template, and wanted to use the homepage to showcase one of her beautiful chairs to drive customers to purchase as the primary objective. We conducted a major content overhaul, added gorgeous full-width images to take advantage of the template, and set Sarah up with Squarespace Commerce so she could sell easily online. I then made a series of training videos showing how she and her assistant could edit all of the main areas of her site, and manage the sales and orders through her online shop.
