Community Allies
About this project
Ellen’s existing website for her consulting company had been built by herself, and she had a very limited brand identity, yet she needed an engaging website to help position her for larger-scale projects. Having first consulted with her on the brand values, audiences and goals for her website, I created an expanded brand palette and a set of brand graphics riffing on the circle concept from her logo and her role in bringing together the different pieces of a puzzle to work together to tackle social change.
I also created a new section on the website that would enable her and her team to showcase previous success stories, to not only help highlight these projects, but to also give audiences a flavour of the highly diverse types of work that Community Allies does - making a fuzzy and intangible concept much more real and easy for audiences to identify with. By using photography from the actual projects rather than trite stock images, the website manages to strike the balance of a highly professional organisation that maintains its true grass-roots identity.
NOTE: After project completion, all clients receive training to empower them to update their own websites, so bear in mind that anything you see on the live website may not reflect my design work.
